Why should I choose you?
What sets me apart from other photographers is my focus on all things food and drinks.
My passion lies in narrative and storytelling. This means that you won’t just get a beautiful set of photographs, but we will also collaborate to help tell the story of your brand to your audience through compelling imagery. We will develop a coherent visual message that ties together with the vision for your brand.
I also understand how ingredients behave in different environments. So I know how to capture your food and drinks at their best!
Do you only take photos of food and drinks?
We will work together to capture a series of photographs that meet your specific project needs.
If you so choose, we can modify your brief to provide less photographs of food and drinks and more images of the environment, chefs, owner or staff members etc.
How do I book you?
Following our initial chat (where we discuss your individual project needs) I will prepare and send you a quote for your project. If you are happy to proceed you will sign a short contract that will be sent via email, along with an invoice for the quoted project fee.
To book my services you will need to pay this invoice in full by BACS or cheque. Once the payment and contract are received, we’re all booked and ready to go.
Ok, I’m booked! What’s next?
That’s great! Now that we have a date for your photoshoot, we will explore your project needs, vision and values a little further. I will develop a brief document where we explore your brands identity and the message you want to express to your market audience. We will take the time to create a brief that is unique to you. Once we have finalised the brief, we will proceed with the photoshoot.
How many photographs will you take?
This depends on your individual project. If you are unsure exactly what you need do not fret! Once I understand your project needs, I will be able to recommend the number of shots we will take to execute your project brief.
How do on location photoshoots (at my business) work?
On the day of the shoot any necessary equipment and studio lighting will be brought to your establishment. The styling of the photos will be based on the props available on location. The shoot time will include setting up, styling the dishes, photographing and packing away. Any additional requests made outside of the agreed brief will be charged at cost.
Will you edit my images?
Yes, every photo is edited and will be ready to use for your marketing needs. For every hour of the shoot, I spend approximately one hour in post-production making sure every image is as perfect as it can be. Editing them in a manner that tells the story of your brand. This includes balancing lighting, colour and contrast and re-touching any images where appropriate.
Can you provide graphic overlays and infographics?
Yes absolutely! I will be delighted to carry out tasks such as adding typography, shapes, designing layouts etc. This will be at an additional cost and can be agreed upon prior to booking.
Can I change my images once they have been delivered?
I offer one revision at the post-production stage. This means I will make one set of revisions in the editing process (e.g. adjustments to balancing lighting, colour and contrast and re-touch to images where appropriate). However, any major shift in creative direction or additional requests superseding the agreed brief will come at an additional cost (e.g. if you’d like images re-shot).
When will I receive my photos?
Normally all of your images will be delivered to you 2 weeks from the photoshoot. I will confirm the exact date within 3 days after the shoot. Once your images are ready, they will be uploaded to your very own online gallery. This gallery is easily downloadable and is free of charge.
Who owns the copyright of the images?
The copyright of the images always remains with the photographer, but I will give you the rights to reproduce the images within our agreed usage structure. If you would like to license an image for further use, we can agree upon a licensing structure.
Are you insured?
Yes, I am! As a professional food and drinks photographer I am fully insured for both public and professional indemnity.
Do you customise projects?
Yes, that is my ultimate goal! To ensure that the project is unique to your brand needs. Perhaps you need an updated suite of images for your website or social media? Or maybe you'd like some help designing some promotional material? Whatever it might be, I can customise the service to suit your requirements.
